Filling Out the Risky Building Assessment Form
Filling Out the Masonry Building Assessment Form in Version 4
In the example above, since the building has a partial basement, the basement floor earthquake forces are lower than the ground floor.
If the Ve/Qbi value (contribution of insufficient walls to floor shear force) exceeds 50% in any floor in any direction, the building is declared risky.
Even if the ground floor (critical floor) does not come out as risky, if any other floor is risky, the building is still risky. In this case, the ground floor values are reported along with the critical floor values in the assessment form.
The form should be filled out with the worst-case values from all floors and both directions. The program automatically identifies the critical floor and direction for the user.
