Obtaining RYTEİE-2019 Parameters

- Earthquake coefficients SS and S1 are obtained as described in the related article.

- Since the R (Structural System Behavior) coefficient and D (Overstrength) coefficient are not used in risky building analysis, the values entered in the relevant fields are not important.

- The floor number for assessment is the floor number counted from the bottom of the building. With the foundation floor number being zero, in a building consisting of sub-basement, basement, ground, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th floors, if the assessment floor is the ground floor, the value to enter is 3. Without the sub-basement it would be 2. Without the basement it would be 1.

- Number of floors excluding basement is the number of floors without counting the basement floor(s) that are completely covered with soil. In the example from item 3, if the sub-basement and basement floor are completely buried in soil, the value is 5; if the basement is not completely buried in soil, the value to enter is 6.

- The local soil class can be determined from the geotechnical survey or from nearby parcels or from the characteristics of another parcel with similar soil properties. If a geotechnical survey is available, the soil class is determined from the survey report. The soil class affects the earthquake spectrum curve and therefore significantly affects the analysis results.
