Risky Building Analysis with StatiCAD and SAP2000 Integration
Risk analysis of buildings with timber slabs or buildings with some timber and some reinforced concrete slabs according to the Risky Building Regulation (RYTEİE2019) using StatiCAD with SAP2000 integration is explained in the related YouTube video.
Recommended Points of Attention:
1- If the building has more than one floor, the center axes of exterior walls should be drawn so they align vertically. If the center axes of upper floor exterior walls are in open space, the wall will behave as a cantilever in SAP2000. For interior walls, since load transfer can be made through the slab even without continuity below, it is not critical for wall center axes to be perfectly aligned.
2- Wall, beam, and slab connections should be made from center axes. Otherwise, they will be detected as having free ends in the SAP2000 model.
3- If there is no special situation in the SAP2000 transfer settings, the support node elevation in the "Create supports at nodes sharing the specified elevation" option should be 0 cm.
4- In projects with partial basements, walls resting on the ground at the ground floor level and extending to the basement floor should be reviewed carefully. The support conditions for these walls need to be set correctly in the SAP2000 transfer settings.
