Partial Error in Load Transfer

When an error occurs during vertical load transfer, the program displays a warning on the Analysis screen: "Partial error occurred in load transfer, Partial Error Ratio = %..."

The most practical method to resolve the error is to select the finite element method for vertical load analysis.

When the options are set accordingly, load transfer from slabs to walls, beams, and columns is performed using shell finite elements, and load transfer between beam/column and wall elements is also performed using finite elements. This eliminates errors that can occur in classical analysis. For this option to work correctly, it is especially important that slabs are defined from the center axis of walls/beams.

For normal buildings, regular rectangular slab finite element mesh is sufficient.

If your building has a situation where walls on the upper floor do not continue on the lower floor (e.g., existing building assessment), there are 2 solutions to the problem:

Solution 1: The most suitable solution is the irregular triangular mesh option. More detailed information on this topic can be found in the related articles.

Solution 2: Adding beams on the lower floor ceiling under the walls that do not continue. The beam height should be equal to the slab thickness and the width should be equal to the wall width above. This creates a load transfer path for the discontinuous walls.
