VERSION 4 Floor Torsion Moment Calculation Differences
VERSION 4 FLOOR TORSION MOMENT CALCULATION DIFFERENCES
Source: Risky Building Training Course Notes
In the formula:
Mx = V * ey
My = V * ex
Vxi = (V * kxi / total_kxi) - V * kxi / J * ey * (yi - yc)
Vyi = (V * kyi / total_kyi) - V * kyi / J * ex * (xi - xc)
In the formula:
(V * kyi / total_kyi) is the shear force acting on the wall without torsion
+V * kyi / J * ex * (xi - xc) is the shear force acting on the wall due to torsion
A wall's capacity being insufficient in the + or - direction of the earthquake determines the damage state. If a wall is insufficient in any earthquake direction, it contributes to the damage ratio for that floor and direction.
