Structure-Foundation Interaction Analysis

If you are performing structure-foundation interaction analysis, the following points should be noted:

Foundation beams must be defined on the same axis as the walls and columns of the lower floor.

In mat foundation with beams calculations, the mat foundations should share the same axis as the lower floor walls and columns.

In beamless mat foundation calculations, modeling should be done with rectangular or quadrilateral slab options that allow irregular triangular mesh formation during analysis, so that the mat foundations can be divided according to the node points of the vertical structural elements above them. Polygon and curved slabs should not be used in beamless mat foundations as the mesh structure is created during their formation.
