CONCRETE POURING IN HOT WEATHER
CONCRETE POURING IN HOT WEATHER
1) Especially in areas where reinforcement is dense, formwork with high thermal conductivity should not be used.
2) Before starting concrete pouring, the formwork and reinforcement must be wetted.
3) If concrete is being poured on soil, the ground must be pre-compacted, leveled, and thoroughly wetted to prevent the soil from absorbing the concrete water.
4) Concrete should be poured at night or in the evening; morning concrete pouring should be avoided.
5) Concrete must be placed within 90 minutes from the time of preparation. When necessary, this time can be extended by adding a set-retarding admixture to the concrete.
6) Adding 10 liters of water per 1 m³ of concrete at the construction site causes approximately an 8% reduction in compressive strength.
