METHOD 1 Tab

For Analyses According to the 2018 Earthquake Code

In the Earthquake Load Calculation Option group for floors, the following options can be selected:

Option 1: Equivalent Earthquake Load

Option 2: Comparative Application of Dynamic Analysis and Equivalent Earthquake Load Method (Dynamic analysis results are increased by a coefficient when necessary)

When Option 2 is selected (varying by building), earthquake forces are calculated approximately 15% less, and Option 2 is a more advanced analysis method compared to Option 1.

When analyzing with Option 2:

(a) If at least one of the A1, B2, or B3 type irregularities defined in TBDY2018 Table 3.6 exists in the building, γE = 0.90 should be taken.

If none of the irregularities defined in Table 3.6 exist in the building, γE = 0.80 shall be taken.

For analyses within the scope of RYTEİE2019, Option 3 must be selected; if not, the program switches to Option 3 during analysis.

Building Dominant Vibration Period Calculation Method (See Article 4.7.3.3): Either the Empirical Method (Equation 4.27) or modal analysis can be selected. The modal analysis method yields a larger natural vibration period (approximately 15-30% larger depending on the building), resulting in lower earthquake forces.

Load Combinations: Load combinations are automatically generated according to TBDY2018. The user can review and modify the load combination coefficients if needed.

Accidental Eccentricity: The accidental eccentricity coefficient is applied according to TBDY2018 Article 4.5.10. The default value is 0.05 times the building dimension perpendicular to the earthquake direction.
