Analysis of Mixed (Hybrid) Structures
In buildings where the lower floors are reinforced concrete and the upper floors are masonry, the lower floors of the building are modeled with vertical tie, beam tie, and slab systems. Masonry floors are modeled normally. The building is then analyzed.
In the analysis results, the results of the reinforced concrete floors are not examined with our program. Only the results of the masonry floors are reviewed. The reinforced concrete floors are modeled for the purpose of correctly calculating earthquake forces and earthquake heights.
If a risky building analysis is being performed and the masonry floors are found to be not risky, then the building is modeled in reinforced concrete software. In the model results from the reinforced concrete software, only the results of the reinforced concrete floors are considered. The results of the masonry floors are not taken into account.
