Defining Wind and Snow Loads
In order for wind and snow loads to be taken into account in the StatiCAD program, the "Use timber structure load combinations" option must be active in the Project General Settings. Snow load and wind load suction pressure are entered in the marked boxes according to TS498.
Snow loads are only applied to slabs designated by the user. To indicate that snow and wind loads should be calculated and considered for slabs or sheathing, the "Has snow load" and/or "Has wind load" options are checked in the slab properties.
For wind loads to be taken into account on wall/shear wall type elements, the edge on which the exterior shear walls are located must be marked. For angled walls or shear walls on exterior axes (walls that are not horizontal or vertical in plan), two options can be selected simultaneously (e.g., on the left edge axis and on the top edge axis). The program automatically calculates wind loads based on which edge axis the exterior shear walls are on and the angles of the shear walls in plan.
Analysis reports can be created with the following options or combined with other reports.
