File Save/Open Problems
1- To open an existing file in the program, you need to first run the program and use the File Open command to open your existing project. If your program does not open, make sure the dongle is plugged in and check the installation steps in the installation guide. Install the lock files if you haven't already.
2- If you receive a "Provider not found" error in the 64-bit version, follow step 3 in the related troubleshooting article.
3- If you cannot reopen a file you saved or it opens incompletely, you can follow these steps:
When StatiCAD saves a file, it creates a total of 3 files. The main file has the .sy3 extension, and the backup files have .sy4 or .syg extensions. Additionally, during modeling, every important operation step is saved as a .sy4 backup data file in the C:\StatiCAD\[Program Version]\gerial folder (for undo/redo operations).
If the main file (.sy3) is corrupted or cannot be opened, try the following recovery steps:
- Try opening the backup file (.sy4 or .syg) from the same directory
- Check the gerial folder for recent backup files
- If the file was saved on a network drive, copy it to a local drive and try opening it
- Make sure the file path does not contain Turkish characters or special characters that may cause read/write issues
- Check that your antivirus software is not blocking file access
