Defining Timber, Reinforced Concrete, Concrete, Steel, Masonry, and Other Materials with StatiCAD V6

In StatiCAD Version 6, in addition to defining materials by specifying the modulus of elasticity and unit weight for each element type on the material page of the project general settings, optional forms have been added where you can define different materials with detailed properties for columns, beams, walls, and foundation elements. Materials can be assigned to the cross-sections to be created, as well as specifically to the element itself. If different materials are assigned to the cross-section and the element, the material assigned to the element is used.

To assign a specific material to an element, select the "From Material Library" option in the Material Selection group box and press the "Select Material" button.

If the wall material is masonry, it is recommended to use the "Code-dependent selection" option in the material selection. If it is different from masonry material, the "From Material Library" option should be used for selection.

If the material exists in the predefined list, it can be used. To shorten the list, the "Show by type" option can be used to display only specific types. If the desired material is found in the list, select it and press the OK button.

To define a new material, click the "Blank Template" button. Select the material type, enter the properties, and press the OK button.
